A kitchen refresh keeps the units and layout that already work and renews everything you see and touch. Replacement doors and drawer fronts, new worktops, a new sink and better storage give you the look of a new kitchen without the cost, the dust or the weeks without a kitchen.
What’s included
- Replacement kitchen doors and drawer fronts
- Factory-painted, or professionally sprayed, timber and handleless door finishes
- New worktops in quartz, granite or timber
- New sink, tap, handles and improved lighting
- Better storage: pan drawers, pull-outs, soft-close hinges
- Repairs to existing carcasses where needed
Who it suits
- Kitchens roughly 10-25 years old with a layout you're happy with
- Homes where a long, disruptive rebuild simply isn't welcome
- Budgets that need to go further without looking like a compromise
Timescales
Most refreshes are surveyed, made and fitted within a few weeks, with usually only a few days of work in your home. This is a guide only and depends on availability, materials and the scope of the work.

NEW DOORS, NEW DEKTON, SAME KITCHEN
A Wiltshire kitchen with sound carcasses and a layout that worked. The cream doors, tiled splashback and dark laminate worktops made it feel dark and dated. New handleless replacement doors and drawer fronts in a soft green, new Dekton worktops, a stylish undermount sink and tap, and LED under-cabinet and plinth lighting transformed it.

AN OLD KITCHEN, REBORN
Because the cabinets stay where they are, the change happens quickly and quietly. These photographs are from a Wiltshire kitchen refresh: professionally-sprayed doors and fronts, new worktops, new sink and tap.

WAYS TO REFRESH A KITCHEN
- Replacement doors and drawer fronts. Measured to your existing cabinets and made in the style and colour you choose.
- Kitchen spraying. Keep the doors you have and have them professionally sprayed in any colour. See kitchen spraying and respraying.
- Worktops, sinks and taps. Quartz, granite or timber. Laser templated and professionally installed.
- Storage improvements. Pan drawers and pull-outs retrofitted into cabinets you already own.
- Added cabinetry. New units, an island or a dresser made in my Corsham workshop to match.
REFRESH QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Yes, and it is the most popular thing I do. If the carcasses are sound and the layout works, replacement doors and drawer fronts change the whole look of the room for a fraction of the cost of a new kitchen.
Doors are measured on site so they fit your existing cabinets properly, then hung with new soft-close hinges.
