Bespoke Kitchen Islands, Dressers & Cabinets

Not every space suits standard cabinet sizes or layouts.

Book your free visit

Bespoke cabinets allow storage, furniture and features to be built exactly to your home, rather than adjusted to fit it.

Designed in your home and built in our Wiltshire workshop, each piece is made with care and purpose, whether that is a kitchen island, a kitchen dresser or a run of display cabinets.

For a complete room rather than a single piece, see fully bespoke kitchens.

MADE TO FEEL RIGHT AT HOME

Whether it is part of a custom kitchen or a standalone addition, each piece is proportioned, materialled and finished so it feels at home, rather than added later.

Mouldings, plinths, panel profiles and hardware are chosen to echo what is already in the room, so the cabinetry sits comfortably with its surroundings.

BESPOKE KITCHEN ISLANDS

A bespoke kitchen island is built to your room rather than picked from a size chart, so you keep the walkways you need and use every inch of the space you have. Seating for two or for six, cupboards, drawers, open shelving, a sink, a hob or simply a generous run of worktop: the layout follows how you actually cook and gather.

Islands can be fitted with services run in, or built freestanding so they can move. Tops are solid timber, quartz or granite, and painted islands are finished in the colour of your choosing.

KITCHEN DRESSERS & WELSH DRESSERS

A kitchen dresser gives you the storage of a wall of cupboards with the character of a piece of furniture. Glazed or panelled upper cupboards, drawers and a worktop below, lit shelves for the china you like looking at, and closed doors for the china you do not.

Dressers can be fitted into an alcove or built freestanding, in solid wood or painted to match cabinetry you already own. Traditional Welsh dresser proportions or something simpler and more contemporary: both are made the same way.

DISPLAY CABINETS, PANTRY & MEDIA UNITS

Beyond islands and dressers, the workshop builds larder and pantry cupboards, glazed display cabinets, wall cabinets, media units and built-in seating with storage underneath. Each is drawn around the room it lives in, then made and finished before it arrives.

Interiors matter as much as fronts: solid shelving that will not sag, lighting where it helps, and solid brass hardware that still feels right in ten years.

BUILT BY NICK ARCHIBOLD

Every piece on this page was designed, made and fitted by me. I visit your home, draw the piece, build it in my fully-equipped workshop in Wiltshire and install it myself, so you deal with one person from the first conversation to the last adjustment.

There is no showroom commission, no subcontracted fitter and nobody who has to check with the workshop before answering your question.

Price guide

WHAT BESPOKE CABINETRY COSTS

Every piece is priced individually, but these are the ranges most of my projects fall into, so you can judge early on whether a bespoke piece fits your budget.

Bespoke kitchen islands

From £2,500 to £4,000+

A compact painted island with cupboards sits at the lower end; a large solid oak island with seating, sockets and a stone worktop sits at the upper end.

Dressers & Welsh dressers

From £3,000 to £4,500+

Price follows the size of the piece, the glazing and lighting in the upper cupboards, and whether it is painted or built in solid timber.

Display, pantry & media units

From £2,500 to £6,000+

A single wall or display cabinet starts at the lower figure; a full larder or a run of media cabinetry with fitted interiors reaches the upper one.

Prices include design, materials, workshop making, finishing and personal installation. You will have a written figure before anything is ordered, and if a standard or custom solution would do the job for less, I will tell you.

Questions

BESPOKE CABINETS, ANSWERED

As a guide, bespoke kitchen islands start at around £2,500 and run to £4,000 or more. A compact painted island with cupboards sits at one end of that range; a large solid oak island with seating, sockets and a stone worktop sits at the other.

Dressers typically start at around £3,000 and run to £4,500 or more, and display, pantry or media units from around £2,500 to £6,000 or more depending on size and interior fittings.

Because each piece is designed and built specifically for your home, the exact figure is confirmed during the design stage, once we both know exactly what is being built. You will have a written price before anything is ordered.

If a standard or a custom solution using pre-made components would work just as well for less, I will always say so.
