Updating our kitchen in Middle Winterslow

Our kitchen in Middle Winterslow was a little tired, but it was nowhere near ready to be ripped out and thrown away.

During the home visit, Nick showed his willingness to update our space in a sensible and sustainable way. We liked that he was happy to repair a well-built kitchen, which was right for us from both a cost and sustainability perspective.

What the refresh involved

Spraying doors, trims and panels: The doors were sprayed at the workshop, while the in-situ panels and trims were sprayed on site.
Replacing broken drawer runners: The broken drawer runners were replaced rather than throwing away perfectly good drawers.
Fixing the larder mechanism: The broken larder mechanism was fixed as part of the repair work. A small annoyance, now gone!
New under-cabinet & over-cabinet lighting: New and improved lighting makes the space feel much brighter.
Improved storage: New mechanisms were added

The outcome, cost and time

Our existing kitchen was retained and refreshed, with the broken drawer runners replaced and the larder mechanism repaired.
The cost range for the work was £8,000-£12,000.
The doors spent a few weeks at the workshop for spraying. A week on site covered spraying the in-situ panels and making repairs.

For us, the important decision was to repair a well-built kitchen rather than throw it away.
