A sprayed kitchen with bespoke additions in Malmesbury

The kitchen was well made but its painted finish needed renewing, and the room needed more storage.

Photographed after fitting in Malmesbury.

Rather than replace it, the existing cabinetry was resprayed and new bespoke pieces were made to sit alongside it.

Respraying the kitchen and adding to it

Spraying the existing kitchen
Doors were taken to the workshop and sprayed in Fired Earth Weald Green; parts that could not easily be removed were painted in place.
Cupboards either side of the fridge
New bespoke cupboards were made in the workshop for each side of the fridge, styled to match the existing units.
A dresser for the corner
A bespoke dresser was made to fit its corner, with cupboards above and below.
A tall, narrow bookcase
A tall, narrow bookcase with adjustable shelves was made to stand beside the larder cupboard, on solid oak feet.

One kitchen, finished as a whole

  • The resprayed cabinetry and new pieces now share one finish, so the additions read as part of the original kitchen.
  • The existing quartz worktops were kept, and the room gained much more storage within its existing footprint.

If your kitchen is sound but tired, a respray with a few well-made additions can go a long way.

“Nick became involved in our kitchen project at an early stage, when we had decided we wanted to make improvements to our kitchen without ripping everything out and starting again. He quickly helped to give us more focus and talked through various options. A comprehensive survey of our existing set-up followed so that he had detailed measurements of all aspects of the layout. Next steps included building new wall and base units and a bookcase designed in a style which matched all the existing units and upgrading all door hinges and drawer mechanisms. We chose a new colour and Nick repainted all units either by hand or by spraying at his workshop. Throughout he showed good flexibility in being willing to add to or modify more detailed aspects as we went along. The end result gave us a kitchen with a transformed look and much more storage, all within the existing footprint! We would not hesitate to recommend Nick to others who wish to have similar work carried out. His high standards and attention to detail are first class.”
