A fresh look for a solid kitchen in Box

The owners of this kitchen in Box, Wiltshire did not need a different layout or new cabinets. The existing arrangement worked well, and the cabinetry was still in good condition. What the room needed was a facelift.

During the home visit, we established that the aim was a like-new look that remained in keeping with the property's age. With solid cabinetry worth retaining, the decision was to refresh the kitchen with replacement doors, worktops and appliances rather than replace it in full.

Refreshing the kitchen without starting again

Retaining what worked: The existing cabinetry and layout were kept. The home visit confirmed that both still suited the owners, so there was no need to replace or move the cabinets.
Soft green doors and panels: The owners chose soft green for the replacement doors and panels, custom sprayed in my workshop. The project included 22 doors, with several weeks spent spraying the doors in the workshop's dedicated spray booth.
Quartz worktops and an undermount sink: The worktops were changed to quartz, and a new undermount sink was fitted for a clean, rimless look.
Time and project figures: Following the workshop spraying, the work took a week on site. The project cost range was £15,000 to £20,000.

Soft green doors and panels refreshed the kitchen's appearance without replacing the solid cabinetry.
Quartz worktops and the undermount sink completed the facelift with a clean, rimless finish around the sink.
The owners retained the layout that already worked for them, with the changes focused on the kitchen's appearance and surfaces.
