Case Study - Replacing Work Surfaces
A new work surface can completely change how your kitchen looks, feels, and works — without starting from scratch
Designed and selected in your home, work surface upgrades are one of the most effective ways to personalise a kitchen
Replacing Dark Granite
Replacing the oppressively dark granite work surfaces with bright and subtly-veined quartz was a straightforward way to transform this space
A luxurious undermount ceramic sink finished the bright and fresh look
What Are The Steps
Removal of Your Existing Work Surfaces
Laser Templating In Your Home

Installation In One Day
1. Removal Of Your Existing Work Surfaces
The existing work surfaces are removed prior to templating. The sink is disconnected and removed
The old surfaces are loosened and removed in manageable sections - taking great care not to damage the surrounding structures and finishes
Accurate templating (and therefore, final fit of the new surfaces) is based on the final, fixed positions of cabinets, sinks and appliances
There is typically a lead-time of 10 working days between booking and the templating appointment, and a further 10 working days from templating to installation
2. Laser Templating in Your Home
A laser measuring instrument is used to build up a very accurate plan of the new work surfaces
The software models the widths, lengths, angles, curves and radii of all the sections with sub-millimetre accuracy
The computer model is reviewed with the client and signed off as complete and accurate, including the chosen material, pattern and colourway
There is typically a lead-time of 10 working days between templating and installation
3. Fabrication At The Factory
The software template is sent directly to the fabricator for submission into production
The various sections are cut by state-of-the-art machinery in their facility within the UK
All required curves, profiles, holes and apertures are cut by machines
4. Installation in One Day
On the day of installation, the kitchen will have been prepared for the new work surfaces
All cabinets, undermount sinks and appliances will have been set into their final positions
Your new work surfaces will be installed in sections, fixed down with epoxy adhesive, and silicone sealed to adjacent surfaces, as necessary
There’s no cutting, noise or dust
Any temporary taps will be removed and the permanent tap fitted
Finally, the tap and waste will be re-connected
Your home will be left spotlessly clean - no dust and no mess
