Case Study - Kitchen Refresh Project
Refreshing a Tired Kitchen
This project began with a kitchen whose layout still worked well, but which felt dated and lacked the calm, bright and cohesive feel the homeowners wanted
Rather than starting again, we focused on where a thoughtful refresh would make the most difference — updating colour, surfaces and key details so the room feels more personal, more functional and more enjoyable
What Was Done
Professionally sprayed colour scheme — a new Farrow and Ball Vert de Terre palette was chosen to feel calm and balanced in the room’s natural light
Replacement lightly-veined quartz work surfaces — chosen for durability, warmth and a sense of quality
Luxurious undermount sink — a subtle upgrade that improves the way the kitchen feels and functions
Each element was considered in the context of the existing layout — keeping what worked, and only changing what truly needed to feel different
The Result
The kitchen now feels
Much fresher and more modern — without losing the integrity of its original footprint
More cohesive and balanced — thanks to a carefully chosen colour and surface palette
More enjoyable to use — small refinements that add up to a noticeably better everyday experience
This outcome shows how targeted, thoughtful updates can feel as significant as a full replacement — but with less disruption, waste and cost
Whether a Refresh Might Suit You
A kitchen refresh is most effective when the layout still works but the room feels tired, dated or disconnected from how you live
If that resonates, a relaxed home design visit is the first step — we’ll look together at what feels right and what would have the greatest impact

“ Nick helped us update our 18 year old kitchen. He was professional, organised and efficient throughout. The quality of his work is exceptional and we thoroughly recommend him. Our kitchen has not just been updated but transformed “
